Stephanie Young Rosen has a reputation and background as one of the top and most sought-after private writing coaches in Los Angeles. She has a real talent to connect with students and assess their strengths and weaknesses. She is an excellent listener. While she challenges her students, she focuses on building their confidence, not just in the subject they are working on, but in themselves. She is a gifted mentor, and has remained in touch with many of her students after their graduation.
After attending the American School of Paris, Stephanie received her BA in English from Amherst College, and her MFA in writing from the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts.
Stephanie has worked in conjunction with elite private schools such as Archer, Brentwood, Campbell Hall, Harvard Westlake, Windward and the Willows School. In partnering with parents, working with students, and serving as a bridge with administrators and faculty, she has gained a strong understanding of various schools’ cultures and inner workings.
Since 2010, she has specialized in coaching college admission essays. Thanks to her deep understanding of strong writing, her students have written essays that have gained them admission nation-wide to colleges and universities of their choice.
Stephanie has three children and understands that sometimes parents can say exactly what a coach says, but that kids hear things differently coming from someone else. When she taught High School French and English, she was voted by her students into "Who's Who of America's Best Teachers". In addition, she has also put her teaching skills to use for over fifteen years by facilitating monthly book clubs for adults. Stephanie grew up on three continents and is fluent in three languages. She currently lives with her family and their two rambunctious puppies in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
